Back Lumbar Support
Lower back support in an ergonomic chair is very important. The lumbar spine has an inward curve and sitting for long periods without support for this curve tends to lead to slouching (which flattens the natural curve) and strains the structures in the lower spine. An ergonomic chair should have a lumbar adjustment so each user can get the proper fit to support the inward curve of the lower back.
Ergonomic chairs feel good and they strengthen the back. Their most important task is to support the body in its seated position as well as possible and at the same time, guarantee the greatest possible freedom to move around so that the body can sit just as it wants to.
How AirCare Systems™ help:
AirCare Systems™ technology uses inflatable pads to deliver variable support; this system has the advantage that it can be easily adjusted to the body shape of the user, using air volume to regulate the firmness of the pad and provides the best possible lumbar support.
Thoracic air cells support the middle spine and are best used in combination with lumbar supports. The air cells result in a more comfortable, relaxed and productive sitting experience. All our spine support air cells can be inflated/deflated with any of our pump systems. We offer standard sizes and we manufacture shapes and sizes to your custom requirements.
Humans did not evolve to sit for hours on end. Active or dynamic sitting requires a continuous change of working position in order to increase and reduce pressure to the various muscles and parts of the body. An ergonomic office chair therefore has to support the natural human need to move at the same time enabling the sitter to concentrate on work in a forward leaning position and guaranteeing a relaxed resting position that supports the back.
